This is one of my favorite locations for a maternity photography session! I spent a great deal of time scouting for the perfect location for water maternity photoshoots and I happened upon this little oasis! I’ve had other photographers and potential clients ask where this is and I’ve politely let them know that this one is my secret place reserved only for myself and clients!

Everyone knows the amount of history that Richmond VA holds, but what you may not know is that Richmond also has an amazing art scene with so much culture and diversity. I was thrilled when this gorgeous mama-to-be wanted something different for her maternity session. Richmond’s Mural Project brings so much life to the city and was a perfect choice for this new life coming into the world!

Who says March is not a great time for outdoor photos? It’s all about location and lighting! Maymont in Richmond VA is one of my favorite places for maternity portraits during the months of January through March! Can you believe this gorgeous mama almost didn’t get maternity pictures done because like so many of us experience later in our pregnancy, she didn’t feel very attractive. I’m so happy and honored that she trusted me to make her look and feel as beautiful as she is!

Is there anything more beautiful then an expecting mama? I was blown away at how beautiful Ronni looked in all three maternity gowns. Her physical beauty is nothing compared to her inner beauty though. In the brief time I spent with this couple it was obvious that their hearts are filled with so much love and kindness. They are truly an inspirational couple!

One hour before sunset is known as the golden hour. This is when sunlight is absolutely magical! I couldn't have asked for better light or a more beautiful couple for this maternity photography session in the James River! This mama-to-be had no problems walking right mud and all!
