Is Two Months a Good Age to Photograph a baby? | Baby Photos in Midlothian Virginia
A common question asked is when is the best time after newborn portraits to photograph a baby? In my opinion the best time is between 3-4 months when the baby is able to hold his or her head up well during tummy time. Although this is the ideal time for portraits that doesn’t mean you can’t do them earlier. The images below are from a 2 month session. Although baby girl wasn’t quite holding her head up we got some great images of her on her back and with her family. Although there are ideal times for milestone portraits you can photograph a baby at any stage.

When is the best time to photograph babies after newborn portraits? Between 3-5 months when the baby is holding his/her head up during tummy time, but before they are crawling is the perfect time for portraits. This is when the baby is smiling and giggling and the first signs of their little personality begin to show!
These two adorable ladies were just as sweet during their 3 month portrait session as they were for their newborn session! The best time to get portraits done again after newborn would be between 3-4 months. This is when your baby is much more alert, can hold his/her head up during tummy time and is really starting to smile!
You never know what you are going to get at a 3 month session. Sometimes you get smiles, sometimes confused looks, looks of annoyance and surprise. No matter which face you get no one can argue that they are the sweetest faces they've ever seen! Enjoy the many faces of sweet baby Amir!
