The Cottage is located at Sarah Kane Photography’s studio in Chesterfield, Virginia. This charming space features a fireplace mantle from the 1920s, sourced from a historic home in Church Hill.
This is a real, cozy space filled with authentic holiday décor, no artificial backdrops here! You’ll be surrounded by twinkling lights, festive greenery, and the nostalgic charm of a classic Christmas setting that feels straight out of a storybook.
It’s a magical experience beyond beautiful images, a favorite family tradition that truly brings the magic of Christmas to life.
Sessions Offered
🎄 The Holiday Card Session — $150
This simple and sweet session is perfect for families who just need that one beautiful image for their Christmas card.
The Holiday Card Session includes:
15 minutes in one beautifully styled area of the Cottage (15 minutes can be added for an additional $50)
1 professionally edited image of your choice
Up to 4 people
No pets, please. Pets are welcome in the Full Cottage Experience
This session is best suited for families with children who are comfortable in front of the camera and can warm up quickly. If your little one is especially shy or full of energy and may need more time to settle in, I recommend choosing a longer session or adding an additional 15 minutes to your session.
Time permitting, additional images may be taken during your session and will be available for purchase.

The Holiday Portrait Session is perfect for families who want a little more time to relax, explore the space, and capture a variety of holiday images. Whether you’re updating your family portraits or want a few extra options for your Christmas cards, this session offers the perfect balance of time and variety.

30 minutes in one beautifully styled area of the Cottage (15 minutes can be added for an additional $50)
3 professionally edited images of your choice
Up to 5 people

The Full Cottage Experience is the ultimate holiday portrait session. A relaxed, unhurried experience designed to capture your family’s connection and the magic of the season. You’ll have full access to the entire Cottage, giving you time to unwind, explore, and soak in every cozy, festive detail. Perfect for larger families, little ones who need extra time, or families who want a variety of looks and groupings
Includes:
60 minutes and full access to all of the beautifully styled areas in the Cottage
10 professionally edited images of your choice
A mix of traditional posed portraits and candid, storytelling images
Up to 6 people ($50 per additional person, up to 10)
Calm pets welcome (see guidelines)
This session allows for natural interaction and genuine moments — from giggles by the fireplace to quiet cuddles beneath the twinkle lights. With time to settle in and enjoy the experience, families can relax and let their true personalities shine.
