Winter Maternity Day Two | Richmond VA Maternity Midlothian Pregnancy Photography
After seeing how beautiful my neighbor's maternity session turned out I knew I had to offer this to other mamas to be! I was so inspired by the snow that I decided to do a FREE snowy maternity session to 5 lucky pregnant women who were brave enough to head out in the storm. Every couple of years I do a FREE mini-minis.

It's rare that we get more than a couple of inches of snow here in Richmond Va and I am so thankful for that! Growing up in North Eastern Ohio off of Lake Erie, then moving to Syracuse NY and then Buffalo NY I've seen enough snow for a lifetime! I loved the snow as a kid and found it so magical. As much as I dislike winter and snow now, I must say photographing a maternity session for my beautiful neighbor in the midst of one of RVA's worst winter storms has helped me see the beauty and magic of the snow once again.

I can't say enough about this family! It was such an honor meeting and photographing them. The bond they all share is undeniable! They had everything needed for an amazing Portrait Experience. My job is to know my camera, composition and lighting, but the family has some jobs too that can really take the portraits to the next level.

At 23 weeks Laura had to have an emergency rescue cerclage, a procedure in which stitches are used to close the cervix during pregnancy to help prevent pregnancy loss or premature birth, and went into premature labor twice

Would you believe me if I told you this was their very first professional photo shoot ever? They look like they are paid to do this! Seriously though, what an honor it was to photograph the Thomas's during their first portrait experience (no pressure or anything :)

Wedding at Sunny Slope Farms in Harrisonburg VA {Richmond VA Wedding Photographer}
Weddings are all about celebrating new beginnings, love, family, and friendships and Allison & Dave's wedding had it all! Sunny Slope Farms in Harrisonburg VA was an absolute dream location set on a rolling mountain with breath taking scenes in every direction. Don’t even get me started on the details! As I drove up the mountain I knew this wedding was going to be nothing less then fabulous. As I walked into the reception tent through rustic barn doors (yes, the tent had barn doors) passing hay stacks, mums, pumpkins, burlap and lace, mason jar mugs and an old fashioned tub strung with lights filled with ice and drinks, I was giddy with excitement.

The trees at Forest Hill Park were on fire and so vibrant! It's truly one of nature's most beautiful things! I am so excited to capture this monumental moment in Melody & Drew's lives. We walked all around Forest Hill Park and I learned so much about Melody & Drew. I was very excited to learn that Melody is a fellow musician who sings, plays guitar, and piano! I think we will find that we have much in common and I can't wait to get to know then both better.
