Mommy and Me Portraits at Maymont Park in Richmond Virginia

There’s something so special about photographing the connection between a mama and her daughter. I recently had the chance to do just that during a session at Maymont Park in Richmond, Virginia.

This was my third photoshoot with this sweet pair, and it’s been such a joy to watch their bond grow over the years. Now that her daughter is three, she’s full of personality, curiosity, and energy. They spent the evening exploring the gardens, stopping to smell the flowers, twirling on the cobble stone path , and simply enjoying time together.

Rather than focusing on posed portraits, we let the evening unfold naturally. Some of my favorite images came from the in-between moments, the way her daughter looked up at her, how they held hands, the laughter they shared. It was all so genuine and full of love.

As a family photographer based in Chesterfield, Virginia, my goal is always to create a relaxed experience where you can just be yourself. When families return for multiple sessions, it allows me to get to know you even better and capture your story in an authentic and meaningful way.
